Hi,

Off to a wedding at Camber Sands soon, and was thinking of spending a few extra days there to chill out. Is there any good places you can recommend in the area?

Cheers

There's the old fishermans cottages at Dungeness, along with the two lighthouses, and all the decaying fisherman's boats on the beach

Rye Harbour nature reserve is interesting if you like shingle and scrubby vegetation with lots of seabirds.

What do you want to photograph? There's plenty of nature reserves locally. Hastings old town, Rye old town. Kite surfers at Jurys Gap.

Dungeness tip is a must if you've never been. Great light and lots of boats.

Camber Sands just fills me full of dread.

Last year I went there for a 4 hour kite buggy course. There was torrential rain the entire time and a constant stupidly strong wind.

There were plenty of kite surfers out and it seems very popular for that (there is a shop / instruction place on one of the car parks), so if you are looking for action shots you could try that.

@ Forbiddenbiker

Crash - the damn thing hardly moved in the wet sand! I now know the difference between Water Resistant & Waterproof clothing. It then took me 3.5 hours to drive home to London :-(

I would like to go back sometime and get pics of the kite surfers though - when it's sunny!
