D60, D3100, D3200... All pretty good for a beginner. I think the 3100 and 3200 have 'Guide' modes. Depends on your budget really.

A lot depends on the depth of your pocket, D3200, D5200,D7000 all can be picked up at lower prices now if you shop around.

My mate picked up a D40x
A couple of months bk. what a great little camera, wish I'd got one instead of shelling out on a brand new D3100. Not that I don't love a cameras it just I'd have saved loads and would of had enough cash to get sum of the lens I've got now at the same time ie; 50mm prime

No in body focus motor. Not a big deal until you want to expand your lens collection and have to keep paying the premium that AF-S (or equivalent) lenses command on the 2nd hand market.
