Hi all!

I'm going to egypt a week on saturday and im taking my 500D as was the main reason for purchase!
I'm having abit of a nightmare with insurance however! With normal travel insurance I can get everything I'm after at a reasonable price, however I seem to have a similar problem that they only insure single items for £250.

My kit in total is worth £600+. I'm not looking for yearly insurance, just for the two weeks while were away will do me. Can I insure it independantly for that time? or Do I need to keep looking for travel insurance quotes!?

Im not a home owner, although i'm not sure if I can add to parents policies?

I've literally no idea on this kind of stuff guys so appologies if the questions I ask come across silly or plain. Just trying to learn!

i reckon 600 quid of kit will only cost about £5 a month to insure.

my advice would just to be incredibly careful with it.. dont leave it unattended, and if your hotel is a decent one keep it in your room safe (or the hotel's safe). Take it on the plane with you and dont put it in the hold.
