Yes
I am looking in whatdigital at the camera ratings and one I was looking at was the Canon 60 D and on the CON part it said..

Con.. mode lock, multi controller, number of AF point.

Being a novice still what does that all mean..

Cheers.

I Would say.....

Mode lock could be based on assigning the * button on the back to what is called Back-focus lock/button (in short holding the button down would allow for focus and removed the half hold function on the normal shot button)

Multi controller...I would say is (on the 60d) the button function to move around the menu screens easily most had the joystick function but the 60D is a little different...

No. AF points ..is the number Auto Focus point you can see through the view finder if you not using single focus point...

hope that helps

Dan.

Thanks Dan..
I think I understand, I was thinking it was something to do with camera settings.
Good link by the way..

The "mode lock" is a modification which Canon will perform on the 7D and 5D Mark II where they add a button to the top of the mode dial. It locks the mode dial and you can only turn it when the button is pushed (to prevent you accidentally turning it).

It costs $100 in the US (not sure about other places) but I guess the reason it's listed as a con in the review you found is because they don't offer it for the 60D or 550D.
