hope im posting this in the correct place

I do quite a bit of fishing, sometimes for days at a time, i was just wondering what if any damage could happen to my camera in different conditions, ie damp/cold/hot. Ive never really experienced any problems with the bridge camera i used to take with me, and thats been out in all extremes of weather (-14c - 40c). However now i have a £600 DSLR id like to find out whether ive just been lucky over the years or if there is anything i can do/buy to help protect my camera and lenses further. Im also going to invest in a rain cover, are they pretty much all as good as one another or can anyone recommend a certain brand? thanks

solong as the body doest have a quick temperature change you should be ok, its when they go from cold-hot or the other way that you get condensation inside and that can cause mould and fungus over time, allways worth having a coupple of those little silicon bags in your camera bag just incase...

as for rain covers i seem to remember someone on here recomending spending on something with a brand as it was a better plastic and fitted the camera better, i for one use an asda bag and elastic bands, but then again i dont like to get wet...

I have taken all my gear camping in very cold and damp conditions just storing it in a camera backpack. All the gear was fine, you could feel it was a bit damp so I used to take it out the bag when I could to air the bag and just keep the kit dry. Think I will prepare a bit better next time I go.
