No
Just use good old fashioned bleach. It will kill the mould and remove the black marks.

Then use washing up liquid in hot water to wash off the bleach, use plenty of soapy water.

Then rinse realy well and dry.

Next year wrap it in bin bags and stick it up in the loft.

thanks

someone mentioned stick the straps i can get off in the wash and the other stuff soak in milton disinfectant. don't really want to use bleach as the little one tends to put it in his mouth!

Erm... Milton is a type of bleach.

Rinse it off thoroughly and bleach (or Milton) will be fine ;)

Although Milton is bleach it is used for sterilising babies feeding bottles etc so surely safe for use on baby toys etc?

We did same with a trike we had stored in garage.
Started off using all sorts of different cleaning agents but found bleach was the only thing that would shift the black mould. As others have said, it was fine on the nylon material, didnt leave marks, and be careful that you wash it off thoroughly - will be fine for little ones.

we have the issue with motorcycle leather's normally have mold on by early year

we have some anti bacterial cleaner deisnged for clothing / leathers how safe for kids materials im not sure but we wear these on our skin so i persum it is safe

Why do you think the mold would be dangerous to Kids. mostly they are harmless.

If the straps are leather... most leather cleaners remove mold and other marks.
If they are canvass... you can bleach them. Then rinse thoroughly under running water.
Same for any other parts.
Five minutes under running water will even remove the smell of bleach.
Most household cleaners contain bleach of one kind or another and they are fine for children.
