Can someone with a Nikon FG answer a question please

Is the frame advance smooth all the way through or does it sort of fall off at the end of the stroke. Not sure how to describe it except feeling like it drops off a cam.

Can't remember if mine always did this or it's a newly developed quirk.

On my FG starting from the out position it is an even stroke around to a position level with the front of the camera body with a definite/positive click on completion.
