Can you recommend a beginners guide?

I am after a complete beginners guide to video. This really has to be idiot proof as a lot of the terms I read about mean nothing at all to me, such as:

  • HD - 720p/1080p
  • fps - what difference does this make?
  • Frame rates? (A term I have heard bandied around)

And don't get me started on editing.... :D
 
When it comes to such things actually anything you just ask Mr Google and or Mr Youtube that what i call them :) and even tell my friends there nothing out there that can beat them they are "THE" source for any help.
