in order...

1976 Rover P6 2200sc, almost mint condition, done about 50miles in the past 11 years, i inherritted this car when i was about 12 after restoring it with my grandad. still got it in my grans garage :)

1979 mini clubman estate 1098cc bog standard in russet brown
later morphed into a 1300cc tuned, lowered, wide arched 70's wagon, that got loads of attention everywhere, mostly for the paintjob, who in there right mind would put a gold pearl flip in brown paint?? (actually looked superb). ive still got it, in storage, im sans garage and its in need of a complete rebuild, might try to put a civic typeR engine into it.....

now onto the boring cars
-1987 mini city, in white, got written off by some boy racer tanking me up the back

- another mini city in cherry red, more rust than steel, hit the scrapheap

- yet another mini (1988 advantage), in white again, was a totally liability, it broke down at the thought of rain, the windscreen wipers fell off, it leaked more than a seive..

- 1995 Rover 100 kensington SE , utter bargain, got given it as an mot failure, got it through its mot for £50, got 2 years motoring out of it, before the engine blew up!

- 2005 Ford Focus 1.8 zetec, boring! too slow, i need something quicker! but its good on the motorway

in this order:

• Nissan Tsuru 1987
• Opel Corsa 1994
• VW Pointer GTi 2002
• Renault Clio RS 2003 (actually this is my car)
• Renault 5 TL 1980 (I get this one just for fun, I just sold it a few weeks ago)
• Renault 1.6 Rally 2002 (to start racing on may 6)

I passed my test nearly 10 years ago and only had two cars :)

Would never personally have a land rover after watching driving me crazy the other week about them and the pollution compared to other cars and the damage they can do to others in an accident. Took the whole other car out when crashed sideways other people wouldnt stand a chance, but thats just me. I think they are ok on farms and places like that, but each to their own :)

i dont drive yet :( but i will be in 8 months :) and i already know my first car is a land rover defender :)

How come no one here has ever had a land rover???

A fellow Nikonista had one till recently. Always had them, then, coming back from shops in Devon, doing 30 due to a speed camera on that stretch of road, had a tyre blow out, skidded up curb, hit the sign telling you there was a speed camera, and rolled it.

Every panel bent, though chassis still beautifully intact, and he the g/f of 20 years escaped with just minor bruises....they got married a couple of weeks ago, having been made painfully aware of their own immortality. HE is ow looking for a nice diesel car with ABS and traction control ;)

Honda CB500
Honda CBR600FiX
Honda VFR800FiY
Yamaha FJR1300A (still got)
BSA Starfire 250
Suzuki GSF650 Bandit (still got)

Very boring list I'm afraid.

Y Reg Ford Fiesta Popular Plus in a s***ty gold colour.
J Reg Fiat Uno, worst car I have ever owned.
L Reg Renault Clio, liked it but got bored.
M Reg Ford Fiesta Si, looked great but ate petrol and was expensive for parts, silliest purchase I have ever made. Bought from the garage I sold it to by an 75 year old lady who liked the power steering. No wonder it never did my street cred any good.
P Reg Vauxhall Corsa. Only had 2500 on the clock when I bought it at 2.5 years old. Now has 163,000 on the clock and is the best car I have ever owned.

I can still remember all the registration plates of all these cars as well, how sad is that.

Andrea

1.1976 rover p6 in lunar grey- lovely condition, still sat in the garage.
2.1976 mini clubman estate in brown, wrote it off but rebuilt it with a 1275cc engine, alloys, nice arches, pearl paintjob, and custom interior, still sits on the drive after i blew the engine up.
3.white 1988 mini city, did me proud til someone whacked me up the arse and shortened it by 3 inches for me
4. brown 1988 city, was a great car, crabbed a little but nethertheless was a great car, got me everywhere finally ripped it to bits when it rotted uncontrolably, still got half the bits in the shed
5. white 1989 mini advantage, dogs*** car, useless in the rain got me to work for about 6 months once the clubman blew up, i think its still sat on my mates drive but its technically scrapped
6. 1994 rover 100, did me proud but 90mph runs up the motorway and very little oil meant its poor big ends went POP!
7. 2005 Ford focus 1.8zetec, 29k in less than 15months now!

Well my car list is very short and very boring;
Ford Escort Mk2 (bright yellow, wide arches, boot spoiler etc etc  )
Fiat Tipo (250,000 trouble-free miles) - eventually had to get rid due to rust
Peugot 406 (170,000 miles) - I keep 'em a long time ;)

But the bikes list (whilst short) brings back much happier memories and bigger smiles :D ;
Suzuki TS100 ER (on/off-road trailie thing, bought new for cash after weeks of saving from my first job)
Yamaha RD400 - wheelie machine - loved it :D
Suzuki GS550 - 1st 4T bike - loved it. Many, many miles :)
Yamaha RD400 - I just had to get another - this time with the full Stan Stephens tune ;) , rearsets, clipons, fairing, paintjob etc. Unreliable, but when it did go - WOW
Aprillia RSV1000 Mille - beautiful Italian beast, awesome :woot:
KTM450 'crosser - tried to kill me on several occasions
BMW R1150GS - very big, very ugly, very comfy, VERY big smiles :D

A fellow Nikonista had one till recently. Always had them, then, coming back from shops in Devon, doing 30 due to a speed camera on that stretch of road, had a tyre blow out, skidded up curb, hit the sign telling you there was a speed camera, and rolled it
Ouch! i'm only getting one so i can use it to tow the boat and go off-roading, should be a chance for some good pics :p but a defender is a car you can rely on, they can go most places.

The fuel economy is ok, 28mpg, but spend a bit of money getting newer parts and that'll go up. Plus if i have time i might try using home made vegatable fuel, that'll be a laugh, and i'll be helping the environment.
