Canon EF 100-300mm f4.5-5.6 USM Lens

Basically saying that, for the price, it's ok but nothing spectacular
 
Oh no, I have had the Sigma 70-300 and didn't rate it so if its worse than that then ill leave off buying this lens. Thank you for your views.
 
My dads just got one of these. I had a canon 70-200mm f4, but times are tough so had to sell it. Ive used my dads and its way better than the sigma. I found the focusing much quicker. As for picture quality, Its not L lens but its not bad. For a second hand one about £100 will get you one. Heres a shot I got using a battered old 350d..

Well on final sharpness, maybe the sigma has it. Definitely on cheaper - but better overall? Depends on your point of view.

But the canon has much better AF and is also better put together than the sigma.

Op, ask yourself if decent AF and good handling is worth £100(ish) extra?
