Hmm interesting. Not sure about the relatively uncontrollable aperture though. That could be problematic.
I wondered about this too... if the aperture has to be controlled manually, how do you do that? Do you have to stick the lens on your EOS body, change the aperture, then put the lens on the GF1?
This will not work as the EOS system only stops down the lens at the moment you fire the shutter button. So when you change aperture on an EOS body, you're telling the camera how to stop down the lens next time the shutter is fired, after which it will return to wide open.
