Have had my 600D for a few months and a reply by Fla5h in another thread was the first mention I have seen of this additional firmware for the Canon cameras. I have it installed on one of my cards now and the extra features look like they will be very useful.
I am mentioning it here so it might catch the attention of other users who may also not have heard of it before.

I used it when I used to have the 60D, its great software and wish it were available for my current one
 
I've got it on one card for my 500D, just starting to think about its video capabilities
 
I have used magic lantern on the 500 and the 550d for video and they make one hell of a difference. The amount of control and the number of extra options you get are immensely valuable for shooting video especially on the 500d where as standard you get no control over your aperture in video mode.

Cracking software!

I use it on my 550d, I haven't shot much video, but what I have done seems much better than with the Canon firmware. I do like the added features like focus capture and timelapse, also the ability to select any ISO and precise kelvin WB settings are nice.
 
Are there any potential warranty issues with Canon if you install this ?

My 400ds 7yrs old so hense thinking of adding it but Ive looked and theres not much it does for my 400d other than expand ISO and AF points and a couple of other things, I wouldnt chance it with my 7D, although it is meant to be stable

I think you can always reflash the original firmware, as long as the camera is still basically working of course.
 
Yes but if the card is not bootable then it will boot the standard canon firmware instead. So a low level formatted card won't be bootable so the standard canon firmware will load (which just has the option to boot enabled) and you can then reflash with an original canon image.
 
ML doesn't touch the onboard memory in the camera. If you use it, then remove the card with it on, there is no way anyone will know it has been used with it.

That is what I thought, hence loading it onto my brand spanking 5D2 within 24 hours of it coming out the box....
