Cant open RAW files in CS5

For some reason it doesnt let me.. Even though ive downloaded the plug in so i can view them on my PC. Any ideas people?

Im no expert but raws don't open direct in cs5, thought that you open the raw in CameraRaw first before going to photoshop itself?

Is there an issue with the CameraRaw part of the software?

Will they open via Bridge? Can we have a bit more info - what kit are you using, did your shots open OK with whatever you used before, have you changed cameras...

You need Adobe CameraRaw to open it in CS5. Not sure if that is what you are saying you have but it doesn't sound like it. Maybe you have it but it just needs updating for your camera.

As others have mentioned, Photoshop doesn't open CR2 files without Adobe Camera Raw. Go to Bridge, and then select on your images, right click and select the Open in Camera Raw option.

I'm not sure what the plugin you've downloaded is, but if I recall correctly, it's entirely possible that you didn't install Bridge and/or ACR when you installed Photoshop. However, if you re-run the installation from your Photoshop CS5 disc, you'll find the option to install Bridge and ACR if indeed these weren't installed the first time around.

I don't think I have ever opened CS5 directly I have always opened my pics in adobe bridge and then "clicked" into CS5
