Yeah! I Agree boost contrast & add sharpening in both b&w and colour. Also lose top 1/3 and concetrate on can as top bit adds nowt imo!

My self preferring colour with just one white plank showing, very atmospheric.

Though don't go on my opinion as seems at odds with everyone else's!

hope you don't mind I had a very quick play with your photo. This is what I personally would have done with it if converting to black and white, give it a really gritty feel.

I'm far from an expert though and people will probably disagree with me. i like the shot though!!

I have the colour one too if your interested before I converted to b&w

Really like that b&w version you have done gives it a much harsher feel I've got another couple of shots from different angles and the like so I'll have a play with them as well. Thanks for the comments they are all appreciated.

Unable to pour any cold water on this subject
So here's my effort

Colour and b&w both seem to work, think I prefer to see the window frame though,as it does enhance the sense of where the light is coming from

Looking good there fella. I've so got to get my monitor calibrated as my shot looked good but now I've played with the levels it looks awful.

That was taken in an old disused guards van from a train graveyard I found the other weekend.....shall be revisiting soon for some more pics
