Cant read memory card!

My mum just got back from egypt and cant get the pictures off her card, The camera says error and the computer shows nothing on the card.

Any help would be great
 
Sounds like you maybe have a duff card, try one of the card recovery softwares, I have used image rescue and card recovery in the past both recovered pics ok, but if the card has packed up totally you might be out of luck short of specialist recovery (not cheap)
Have you tried a different computer and card reader? sometimes that helps if it's a read issue.
Is it an SD or CF card?
 
Maybe a long shot but nero comes bundled with a recovery application, im not sure if it`ll work on memory cards but its worked well on damaged cds in the past, gotta be worth a look if you`ve got it.
 
I had a corrupt SD and Lexar image rescue 3 got them all back for me. Its free, theres a link on here some were but I am sure google will find it.
 
Do a Google for 'image recovery software free' and you'll find quite a few free utilities (all of which can give very different results) so try them all.
