Can't use camera - mental support needed!

I'm upgrading my D50 to a D200, so am selling it on eBay. I've boxed it up just in case I drop it before it sells or something, so I've been camera-less for the past few days, and will be for the coming weeks. How can I survive sans camera? Advice wanted. :lol:

I've been looking at the 17-55 f2.8 Nikkor lens. Definitely my next purchase. Thoughts?
 
I know how you feel. I get twitchy when I haven't used mine in a few days. Sometimes I just have to pick it up and look at it.

I came at Photography all wrong, I started by having a copy of Photoshop and some spare time - I'd echo Scarecrow's advice, you can never have too much practice at various PP techniques ;)
 
Get an iGodPhone and take a few photos with that.

Then look at them in Photoshop and see what you think of the dynamic range;)

Well, if your stuck at home/work, you could try Googling up reviews on the Sigma and Tamron alternatives to this lens (and then dream about what you're going to buy with the 700GBP that you'd save, if buying new ;)), or if you fancy stretching your legs, you could get down to the local library and borrow some of their photography books :shrug:.
 
a cheap backup from ebay to challenge your expertise?
 
Go to a car boot and pick up an old 35mm for a few quid and shoot some film :)

Never know, might get lucky and find something special too!
 
I echo the film sentiments! You might even pick up a really good 35mm camera. Or go shoot medium format (I picked up a lubitel 166b for about 27 quid). And if you haven't got a new camera by the time you've spent a couple of rolls... learn how to develop them yourself!
