Has anyone used CarTakeBack.com?

Saw their advert on TV and took a look. Offering my £130 for my old Rover which I need to shift (£150 if I take it to the scrappers myself). I had just looked on We Buy Any Car and they were offering me £105 for a fully working car (which it just about is), where as Car Take Back is for scrap (which is also just about is).

Thought it best to see if anyone had actually used them though.

Not heard of CarTakeBack.com. We buy any car usually have an administration charge, about £75 I believe so you are likely to get £30 off them. Chances are the other company will be similar. Best off going straight to the scrappers yourself.

Can't see any mention of an admin charge (in fact googling that returns this thread!)

One thing to remember with the likes of webuyanycar is that they will chop you for any damage even when specified on the Internet form so the money they quote isn't what you get. I would phone around a few local breakers and see I you can get them to collect for £150 as they'll make the money back in parts...

Cheers, I had that thought but the conditions are really simple for this place. They are scrapping them so they are not fussed about superficial damage, as long as it isn't major etc.

I am struggling to find many negative reports to be honest so have booked it in for pick up. Will see what happens. To be honest I half expected to have to pay to have it shifted, so anything is a bonus!

Take it into a feild and burn it for the insurance ....

That aside why not just drive it or tow it to a scrappy yourself ? or advertise it on ebay as an 'ideal project'

I would but it is SORN, no insurance, MOT etc etc. Been sat on the drive a for few months waiting for me to get the money to fix it up. I just wanted an easy way to get rid to be honest :(

I used them last week. Have to say the whole thing went perfectly, absolutely no problems at all. Received cheque on the day of collection, certificate of destruction issued a few days later and have received confirmation also from DVLA. So, i would recommend them absolutely.:)

Good to know, thanks :) Seems to be the same experience as everyone else too.

Just had the call to arrange collection and all seems perfectly good so far for me too :)

Well they have collected it, no problems, cheque handed over to me and car taken away.

Really simple and no hassle :)
