Hi all... this may be a big fat no but I thought I'd try you lot first.

Basically I'm pretty good with electronics so opening it up is not a problem ( in fact I've already done that )

It started when the missus dropped it while I was away and killed the screen. I left it a while and in the end got a second unit from Ebay for bits. The mechanics of it seemed dead but the screen seemed ok.

I split the two and placed the new screen in to my unit but alas nothing happened.

Since then I ordered a new screen from the US and duly stuck that in this week... no joy.... oh dear.

I noticed the back light not coming on either so swapped that ( long story but it ended up with my original one in by doing this - still nothing ).

The camera its self still seems functional as it fires away etc but the screen is dead....

So before the envitable which I dont want to as this cost me loads in when new and I hate been beaten more ) does any one have any advise, maintenance manuals or even experience ? I'm tempted to buy yet another off Ebay but I'm sat here thinking is it worth it especially as I think in my case it sounds like the screen controller may have gone ( if the 1st replacement was duff ) and as such a new mobo.....

TIA

Fixed....

The story - An Un-named person ( not me ) dropped it and killed the screen.... after some time I decided to get spares / repair off Ebay for the screen... I think that killed my mobo... but I didnt know that till a new screen from the US arrived.... Decided to have one last go ( cost upwards of £250 when I got it ) and got one last what looked good one. Stripped that and mine using the duffer as practise switched the mobo from the newer one to my optics powered up and job doneish... Going to carry this around daily now and keep my other P&S special.... that is until I get my DSLR and it moves down the line. So in all about a £30 repair ( not counting time and the new sets of mirco screw drivers which where only a couple of quid ).

Piccy of my success

PS Any one got a Micro SD to SD converter.... I got two mini to micro adapters wrongly doh....
