Chanctonbury Ring

This, Emma, is a sweet countryside view that is soul smoothing!

Something went wrong, I think, with your choices of aperture and DoF.

It was shot at f/11 Kodiak, which I have used for similar landscapes. It was on a lens I would never normally use for landscapes, as I was taking some close ups, my Sigma 105 - the Ring looked so lovely I just grabbed the shot. As there were high winds I didn't want to go for a smaller aperture and a longer shutter speed - although I was using a tripod it wasn't my most sturdy! The foreground is pretty soft I guess - maybe I missed my focussing point.

Ah memories of near home, Horsham West Sussex.

Chanctonbury Ring was far more impressive prior to the 1987 great storm.

I meant my home was Horsham, not where Chanctonbury Ring is.

I never saw the ring before the storm Terry, although we've lived at the foot of it for 20 years now. It does look impressive from the photos I've seen - it's still a wonderful place for a walk :)

I don't know the area but this is a lovely natural landscape capture, very impressed.
