Just spent the day at the Chatham Historic Dockyard with my tribe and would highly recommend it for a day out.

Tickets are valid for a year, and there is so much to see you might not get round it all in one visit.

Highlight for me today was the exhibition of Stanley Spence "Shipbuilding on the Clyde" pictures. They are amazing. A fantastic historical record but also beautiful pictures. I spoke to one of the gallery staff who said that after 3 months of looking at the pictures he's still seeing new things in them.

Only there until 12th December though http://www.thedockyard.co.uk/NetsiteCMS/pageid/941/The%20Gallery.html

There are so many things to photograph there I would not know where to start with a list.

Highly recommended

David

PS Anyone who got stuck on the CW M25 between the A12 and the A127 late this afternoon, this was the problem!!

There are quite a few interesting things at the Dockyard - more than meets the initial eye too, you just need to know what you are looking at :D

I've not seen the photography exhibition that you speak of though, might have to pop back and take a look. I love looking at those sort of photos.

I visited the dockyard a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. The lifeboat exhibition was fascinating. I did make a fool of myself on the submarine though, launching myself through a bulkhead and ending up flat on my back in the middle of the tour group.
