Yes
Is anyone else out there cock-eyed like me?
I often find on review of my photos that my shots are slightly twisted, always slightly clock-wise so im guessing im cock-eyed rather than jus not always getting perfect composition???

Twisted ...? Do you mean not level?

yes sorry i did mean not level, was having a mental block on how to word it lol
i think i may get 1 of them hot-shoe levels im fed up straitening probably %70 of my pics lol
i have also just found the 'grid' on my d3000 so maybe that will help my cock-eyed'ness ;)
p.s
please forgive my spelling and puncuation was never my strong point :)

How would a hot shoe level work if you are holding the camera, I think thasts what OP is trying to say, at least I hope he is:p

If you are on about holding the camera then yes i am with you i get alot of shots that are slightly out of level.

On the tripod they are always level as the tripod has a bubble level on it and i can see that the camera is straight anyways

3 way hot shoe levels can be had for <£5 delivered from HK on ebay.......... but are pretty useless if holding the camera...........

if you use the viewfinder can use bars on that or autofocus points to line up on an horizon....... though invariably I find anything hand held with an horizon is between 0.2 and 0.5 deg off - sloping downhill on the left, so appears I am a bit boss eyed........

oh yea the hot-shoe level will only help on a tripod but there my worst culprits, il be tryin the grid lines on my viewfinder from tomorow so hopefully that will help!
im so glad im not the only 1 with this problem lol

yes sorry i did mean not level :)

I have exactly the same problem but because I'm aware of it I always double check in the viewfinder by using the AF squares to judge how level the shot really is :) Apparantly you can get an electronic thingy that you can use on the hot shoe but still see, or hear when composing through the eyepiece ... I think it's called an Acculevel (or something similar)

HTH ... Steve

Yep, got that problem, though I find that if I remember once at the start of the session it doesn't get me too bad. When I forget, sheesh, its a wonder the water stays in some of these ponds.

do you use your left eye? i do and lots of my shots are not straight unless i really make a point of making them so.

I use viewfinder grid lines, i know I'm crap so usually check. I know someone whos viewfinder isnt straight so straight in the viewfinder produces wonkey pictures.
