Took the opportunity to further afield due to havong a car to hand so popped down to Cockenzie to capture the disused pier just ahead of sunset.
The second image is jist to the left of the pier.
Normally i wouldnt do a central shot but the lead in lines from the small slipway made for good lead in lines.

Anyway all comments and crit welcome and thanks for looking.

I like the first one Stuart, composition good and lovely light and colours.
Nothing wrong with the 2nd, but doesn't do it for me the way the first one does.

I like them both but like Pads think the first is the stronger of the two. Love the colour of the sun and the clouds. Nice one(s).

…both worthy wall hangers!

Very nice. The first edges it for me.

Some beautiful light there very well captured. I'll be different and go for the second. It's the clean simplicity of it that grabs me. With the first my eye finds the underside of the pier a bit cluttered and doesn't really make it to the end, plus the pier lies along the horizon and the end blends with the horizon a little.

Thanks all for the comments folks very much appreciated!

Prefer no 1 good foreground lead in taking the eye through to far distance.
GEORGE.
