Hi Guys,

haven't used filters before, just wondering if I need to purchase a seperate adaptor ring for each size lens I will be using them on, or can you use just one adaptor ring and holder and use standard step up/down rings for the other lens sizes...if you see what I mean?

thanks in advance,

I guess you'd be best off buying multiple adaptor rings and just using 1 holder with them. Not sure why you'd use step up rings instead of an adaptor holder. It wouldn't be more expensive

Thanks Hugh,

it's just that I already have a range of step up/down rings for ordinary circular filters etc.

The only real issue i can see with doing it that way is you may get additional vignetteing at wider focal lengths. No other issues

Thanks again Hugh,

o.k, will give it a try with a large adaptor first and make sure I'm stepping up and not down.
As you say, I can always buy additional rings if it doesn't work, just wondered if it was possible.

many thanks,
