Colin Mcrae Confimed Dead:(

blimey.

Not the best bit of reporting tho, how dare they put something like this up without knowing if or who if there is indeed a dead person. Just think of the distress it could cause the family if they werent aware, or if it turns out to be some other poor sole.

Oh no!
Thats not looking good.
I really hope not.

apparently they thimk 2 people were in it, they cant confirm yet, and there were no survivors. :( sad day indeed whoever it turns out to have been !

Both Colin and Alister have pilots licences and they flew together often, guess we just have to wait for the family to confirm who was actually in it.

Agreed but you can guarantee they wont ! :(

Its the old supply and demand thing, whilst people keep buying the newspapers and watching the news, the media will keep reporting on stories.

A real shocker whoever it is ... ... heartfelt condolences to whoever is finding out they have suffered a loss today ... :crying:

:p

OMG I can't believe it. I'm shocked.

R.I.P. Colin mate you'll be sadly missed.

Thats a total shock, the guy was a legend behind the wheel and risked his life week after week at high speeds on the courses, and then a simple helicopter jounrey ended it all

I don't know what else to say

Thats a real tragedy. RIP

Alan

Apparently police now say they believe Colin was on board and so were three other people.... Which sounds horribly like it was a family trip. This is pretty horrific and my sympathies go to all his family. :shake:

EDIT: The times is saying that His wife was taken back to the house with a police escort at 6pm, and friends say his daughter was not on board either.

It sounds terribly familar to the crash of Bertie Fisher a number of years ago. He was an Irish rally ace and was returning from a family trip when his helicopter crashed himself and several members of his family. Probably the most tragic to motorsport from that crash was Mark Fisher, he would of almost certainly been a WRC champ or very much in the running, he was exceptionally quick.

Tagic news :(

My heart skipped a beat when I saw this thread. Colin was a very fine brave driver.

Its sad when someone dies before their time whomever they are. Condolences to the families left behind.

So tragic and sad :(

really struggling to take this in, RIP :(

Its strangely even more gutting in the cold light of day. The only two British WRC Champions have both died very young. I remember being at the top of the rally stage at Goodwood a few months ago whilst he stood around with friends/colleagues, laughing and looking very relaxed and happy. :(

Sky News have now confirmed who all 4 people involved are http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-1284286,00.html

R.I.P Colin McRae

Rallying is just not going to be the same without you. I met him on rally Catalunya a few years back and he was happy to give me the time of day and sign my dad's jacket for me.

Colin has provided us all with great driving and plenty of action which will really be missed.

:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
