Compact Camera Recommendations

As the title really. Looking to get the girlfriend one for xmas. Budget is around £150. Have looked on a few review sites etc but finding it abit of a minefield so I thought I'd come and ask on here. Looking for something with good picture quality for holidays and the like and easy to use.

Can't beat the Canon S95 (except perhaps with the S100)

S95 is a nice looking camera...a little out of my price range though. She did say she like the new Samsung MV800 with the flip screen when she saw the advert but can't find any user reviews on it. Just hands on reviews from various websites.

It's rather a pointless camera unless you plan to shoot a lot of self portraits.
Seems well built, but it's trying to fill a niche which doesn't really exist?

For your price range I'd look at a LUMIX or an IXUS

Another vote for the S95. I have a S90 as a second cam and the S95 is better yet.

I know you said it is out of your price range but go on, she's worth it!

I know what you mean yeah. Well she'd have been taken in by the fact it has a flippy screen lol. I have an old Panasonic FX8 which is great for point and shoot so will look at the lumix stuff.

And Chris, she is definitely worth it. It just the fact that I've already blown our agreed Xmas budget as has she already on one of these Chamilia bracelets with some beads. Not cheap I tell you haha.
