Hi everyone,

I was going have a search in the forum, but I read it has been taken down for the moment.

I am looking for a new compact, for in the evenings or when on a city break and I do not want to carry the SLR.

Small enough if fit in my pocket about Canon IXUS 130 size, with an aperture priority mode or landscape mode. Price range 180-just under 300.

Any recommendation for best image quality?

I would recommend the Canon PowerShot S90 but it might be a bit over 300 quid.
 
Thanks for that, S90 is one of the cameras on the short list. There are so many these days, it is a bit of a nightmare trying to pick the most suitable one. I hope to narrow the list from recommendations from here.

How about an LX5? You can pick one up from Kerso for £329, so a tad over budget, but according to Amateur Photography this week, the best compact around. I am waiting for mine!
