Compacts that have a manual mode?

I am looking at a compact camera and want one that I can use in a manual mode.

Hubby has a G9, so I know that's an option, but I want it smaller.

I'd love a Leica D-Lux, but don't think I can stretch to that. The Panny LX3 will also do a manual mode I think.

So what else? Any other Canons (not G series) or Panasonics where I can adjust aperture and shutter speed myself?

Thanks for your help.

I've got a Panasonic FX500 which use when my DSLR is too heavy. Its got aperture and shutter priority, and a touch screen. Its got a 25mm wide angle screen, which is great for landscapes, and really good picture quality. I took these pictures with it.

The good news is that it's lighter than the LX3, cheaper and smaller. Not as good as my Nikon D80 but a great camera to carry everywhere.

Another vote for the Pano FX500. Super little camera. I think it's the FX550 now :)

Edit: just noticed that FX500 is £180 at Amazon, which is a total bargain. FX550 is practically identical but £100 more!!!

the Panny LX3 is the pick of the bunch at the moment, one of the very few with a decent wide angle and Raw capability...just depends if these are on your priority list though as it's a little pricey
