I've found my personal laptop to be very slow handling raw files and editing them in CS3. I will rebuild it at some point as the spec is reasonable (Core 2 duo - 2.0Ghz, 2Gb Ram, 7200 hard drive, NVidia GForce Go7900) and I don't think Vista will be helping but I have another solution.
I currently run my business from home and whilst this won't continue long term, it is unlikely we will move to offices for a several months or more. Anyway I am about to buy a desktop for work use to add to the work laptop and thought that I could add an extra internal or external hard drive to this for personal use and run CS3 and any other imaging software of this and store my files on it.
I'm considering something like a Dell Vostro but am wondering whether other than making sure I get a decent processer (Intel i7?) and 4Gb or more of RAM and Windows 7, is there anything else I should consider including the graphics card specs?
