Last Wednesday I bought the Canon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM and popped on down to Marwell and the Hawk Centre and got some shots I was happy with. I got home from work and the light looked pretty good and could hear the birds chirping pretty loudly so thought I would go try my luck while there was some light left and am not sure the lens is working properly!
When I used it at Marwell it was silent as could be and would lock on pretty quickly with AF, this evening theres a noise which I'm having trouble thinking of a description when the lens is in motion (focussing), it's almost like a quite windy noise, I have tried this inside and out, tried rebooting the camera and still the same, it also seems slower to lock on!
I have tried my other lenses and they all seem fine.
The camera does not leave the house and lives in it's bag apart from when it's around my neck being supported by my hand, for me it's an expensive piece of kit and I take care of my stuff!
Does thisd sound like a fault or am I being paranoid! I did buy the lens new so worst case scenario I can pop into Jessops on Wednesday and get them to check it over!
Help...
