Copyright Question Please

[TurnipFarmer]

I was thinking about uploading some photos to this wesbite

http://yourphotos.yrnweb.co.uk/gallery/pictures/landscape-travel/

But don't really understand the T&Cs, could someone just check it out for me? As far as I can see by what I have read that if I upload my photos, the copyright is then given to the website publisher, is that correct or am I wrong?

I just want to double check before doing so.

As I read it, you would retain copyright of your images, but you give the publishers all rights to use the images for whatever purpose they see fit without recourse for remuneration or compensation.

Fail to see the benefit personally!

Unless you want to give away the use of your images I cannot see any point in uploading there - the list of newspapers etc they own menas it could be used just about anywhere, otherwise as that famous newspaper man "Clarke Kent" above says

thats what I thought, I only wanted to showcase my photos as I have a few from that area.

I am just trying to find other avenues apart from Flickr to showcase my photos. Does anybody else have any suggestions?

Why not set up your own portfolio site?

Somewhere like Clikpic is quite easy, and fairly inexpensive, and you can maintain full control over your images that way.

(There are also many other similar sites out there as well - I'm not emplyed by Clikpic! )

Cheers guys, I'll check out clikpic, was also looking at Smugmug too and also redbubble do a website feature too. Are there any others out there? Which is the best ones? I really like the type of website design that is modern and tidy.

I think I am going to go down the line of Clikpic. Also the other question while I am here does anybody upload there photos to Digital Photographer Magazine?

That was the other website I was thinking about uploading some of my photos but not sure either.
