It's simple, but that is a good thing as everything that is needed is there.
The only two criticisms I can see is that it is a very "Photium" site, but then it's only people who look at a lot of photography websites that will notice that. And the availability thing, it takes people away from your site, with no obvious way of getting back, maybe forcing it to open in a new window/tab would be a better bet.
I also have a Photium website but I've done very little to try and customise mine due to a total lack of knowledge on how to do it. Yours certainly looks a lot better than mine and far more professional. You may even have inspired me to have another look at mine and see how much better I can make it.
I agree with the comment above about the availability page. While it may be very useful for people to see when you are free I don't see it as essential. If people want to make a booking then you have contact details on there for them to ask.
You would be better off (I think) going straight to your second page and having a secondary navigation at the top with " Home" and then the types of work you do so that the pages look well populated with photographs.
The calendar page is all well and good, but you could have one portrait booking in the morning and the rest of the day spare, but people will think you're booked for the whole day as they can't go into the day to see specific times. Also once you click on the availability tab, it takes you to an external site with no link back into the main site
wow thank you everyone so much for taking the time to view. A lot of useful things to think about.
Think I'm gonna bin the availability page as it's not really adding anything to the site.
I like photium at the minute as it's pretty cheap and easy for me to manage. In an ideal world I'd love to have a go at wordpress but just not getting round to doing it.. plus it looks a lot more complicated!
Rob - The only thing I can see that is very different to yours is the header. It's really easy to do in photoshop, then upload as an image. It shows you in the 'header & footer' settings on the admin page. It also gives you the correct dimensions to work with. Have a play around with the different themes and see if you like the look of any. You can preview your site with a new theme, without having to accept it.
Peter - I totally agree with the portfolio page and not very happy with it. I'll have to see if I can figure out an alternative
Once again, thanks everyone x
Will tone down the watermarks (doubt anyone is going to pinch them anyway lol)
