Yes I've got done off them as well (whoever put the gloating "Darwinism in action" comment on that thread is proper due some karma reimbursement - I hope pictures surface).

Does anyone know the procedure for getting the money back? They claim to take cancellation of orders only online, and not by email or phone (not that the 'phone ever connects, obviousy - it's only ever an answering machine).

I am jolly, jolly cross about this.
 
if you paid by credit card (or some debit cards) would it be easier to start a chargeback with your bank?

Update:

for all their evils, my bank is being pretty sweet about it - I've reported it to them, and they send me out a form saying that I ain't don't got nothing or no one and they can surely damn my hands if I do lie, and then they simply refund me (I presume they get it on the insurance).

Well, I was joking but seeing as you seem to want me to bite, I'll humour you.....

If you saw a person with a sign hanging round their neck in the street that said "Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS, just £500" would you walk up to them and hand over the money because they were the cheapest, and ASSUME that they were a good trader? Because that's pretty comparable to what happened.

And, just for the record, I didn't call you stupid.

The implication on your part is that anyone who tries to trade with them is stupid for assuming they're a responsible trader and not seeing them for the oh-so-obvious fraudsters they are.

You clearly regard yourself as above such, hence the sarcastic, patronising comments about darwinism at work.

Let's hope you don't make a mistake due to trust or assumption, and that nothing bad happens to you, eh?
