I went along to the 5th day of the 1st Test (England vs. New Zealand) at Lord's last Monday; this was my first time attending a cricket match (or indeed any sport that didn't involve engines!) and my first attempt at (human) sports photography.
Taken on my Olympus e-500 using the 40-150mm Zuiko Digital lens at ISO 200 and f/3.5-4.5 (basically as wide as the lens will go). Shutter speeds were kind of all over the place due to the extremely variable light conditions throughout the day! All have been post-processed in Lightroom for exposure and levels etc etc.
Some of these were taken from the elevated grandstand underneath the media centre, the others were taken from the ground level grandstand at the North end of the ground. In each case we managed to get on the very front row for optimum photography conditions
