No
managed to catch this male cuckoo on a fly by on monday morning......
took loads of photographs of this stunning bird so its going to be a long slog going through them....

no sign of the female today so i have to assume she has left.. which means the two males will follow soon.

Thank you.

We've spent a lot of time with the cuckoo over the last couple of years up in Northumberland (my mate especially)
& im always amazed by these birds when I come home.
Don't think they'll be here much longer & the forcast for the rest of the week isn't great but hopefully I'll see them again before they migrate.

Cheers guys. I got incredibly lucky Monday morning.

Brilliant flight shot, very well done indeed :)

Absolutely top draw Paul :)

Cheers folks for the comments as they are greatly appreciated.

I got a series of photographs of this fly by & I really can't decide which one I prefer.
May add some more later for your opinions.

Thanks again.

Cheers again folks.

Didn't do anything with this one other than a slight crop as the cuckoo was farther over to the left in the frame.
Contrast,shadow,sharpened & a little N.R.

Wonderful shot.
As a novice, I feel like giving up now after seeing that !!!!!!!

Thank you.

There's absolutely no reason you can't get the same/similar shots as these.
Just find a good location & monitor the cuckoo behaviour.
Put yourself in the most advantageous position & wait.

It may take a while or you might have all the shots you want in a matter of minutes. If you are local to Tyne & wear I can help get you set up.

Got more shots of the cuckoo so I'll just add them in here if that's ok.

Get it in to Bird Guides that would be POTW in anyone's book. Superb in every way.
