D2x wide angle prime

I am looking to get a moderately wide angle prime lens for my Nikon D2x, image quality is the main criteria, auto focus is not important as it will be mainly used on a tripod using hyperfocal focusing, so it could be AF or AIS manual lenses. I am looking at the 20mm or the 24mm which would give me effectively 30mm or 36mm focal length, which is wide enough for me. The reason I am not considering zooms is because I like to use Hyperfocal focusing using the Hyperfocus scales on the lens which zooms don't have.
So can anybody recommend a cracking nikon prime lens which will get the most out of the D2x sensor.

The 28mm f/2.8 AI-S is Nikon's best wide angle prime.

The 20mm f/3.5 is superb as well - quite hard to find.
