Not really sure what it's called
, but there is a small (and delicate :bonk
line of sponge where the mirror flips up to act as cushioning. I recently cleaned some dust from inside and just prior to refitting the lens noticed a hair on/in the sponge.....got hold of it and tore the sponge in the process, with the hair came about a third of this material, blimey it's wafer thin stuff!
Anything to worry about long term? the camera is functioning fine but I guess it's something Nikon could sort if it may cause issues later on....I can't see that it will hurt but would like to know from anyone who thinks otherwise
