Picked it up yesterday. Wow, its just what I had hoped the D60 would be - almost fool proof. I was always slightly dissapointed with my D60, I always had to underexpose to avoid burn out, even in relatively flat light, it seemed to have very limited dynamic range. The Pictures from the D3100 are very different, very punchy, sharp, colourful, and attractive on the default setting. The low light performance is staggering, and the face tracking auto focus looks like it will be very useful to. Not tried the HD video yet.
The only disappointment so far is that iphoto does not recognise the RAW format.
