D700 for £800???

Hmmm, the seller has just launched! I wouldn't trust it.
 
the 1st one has just launched, but the second one seems to be around since last year....

Even then, i dont think i would trust it.....only 6 ratings with 83% feedback.....

When its too good to be true, it usually is! ;)
 
there are two from what I can see, one has 83% (although that looks to be for bad communication rather than stuff not arriving)
 
They also have a 5DII for £662 and a 7D for £470.59, plus the usual selection of ipads, plasma tvs etc that every other Marketplace scammer has...
 
If you pay on a credit card I suppose it might be worth taking the risk - and are you covered by amazon anyway? Seems very dodgy though.

£800 is a tiny amount to pay for a D700, but a huge amount to pay for an empty box ;).

I was thinking of taking a chance on this basis.

However, all it says is it's used - Like new. A D700 in immaculate condition but with 100k on the shutter could well be the prize.
 
Ask for photos of the camera with a piece of paper with their username on.
They won't be able to send them.
 
Not sure if this was said or not yet, but I think this might have been a scam! :D

do you know - I know this might be crazy talk, and I might get shot down for saying this so I apologise in advance but I think it might just be a SCAM!!!!
 
OK, it probably IS a SCAM but you're well protected with Amazon (even marketplace).
I tried to buy it but it said it could be delivered to my address for some reason.
Never heard of that one.
 
The company that are selling this camera are actually a bubble wrap/film company?? All I would say is if you tried to buy it and it wouldn't let you is to report them to Amazon, as Taz said in his post, you are totally protected with Amazon.
 
It looks like a scam, they will have hacked the marketplace sellers account ;)

They have a D3s for £1500.

There was one about 18 months ago for a D700, I contacted the seller for clarification on something in the advert, I got an authentic looking e-mail exactly like an Amazon confirmation, however they asked for Western Union payment.

Tracing the source of the e-mail showed it had originated in Russia.

I declined :D
 
Weird - when I checked the link on this post last night, the first seller wasn't the one it was now it was someone completely different which was even more weirder as they had 100% FB as many said that they only had 92% & it certainly wasn't DEM that it is now....
 
They manage to hack loads of different accounts. On ebay last week when I was looking for a D700, Cash converters (a several thousand powerseller) had loads listed up for £1200 brand new. Obviuosly a fake listing, as in the listing it said email this address for details how to buy. For a laugh I did and got an email back asking for all my bank detaiils, address, name, eye colour, waist size etc. Not long after all the listings got pulled.
The next day, another powerseller had hundreds of the same thing, again with the same text in the listing. I emailed the real account holder to let them know, and they had no idea how thier account got hacked.
 
As previously said, it will be a scam.

The purchaser will probably get an e-mail from Amazon (genuine) saying the the order couldn't be completed.

Amazon do try to crack down on these sort of ads. You don't actually get paid until you have confirmed that the item has been posted.
 
There are a lot of "phishing" mails aimed at Amazon sellers tempting them to log onto fake Amazon sites, so its I'm not surprised that Amazon gets a few scam deals there now and again.

It's not possible to buy a D700 for £800 legitimately in any shape or form!
