Hi all.
I know i could do a google on this but feel i am likly to get a more direct answer here, and don't have to trung through pages..

I have considered the D300, but now i turn to the D700 with its full frame.
mean while i would like to build up some more lenses until i can afford the D700.
However am not sure if the D700 will deal with my kit as far,
Nikkor 18-135 ,Nikkor 70-300 VR ,Sigma 10-20 . Will these work with the
D700?.

Thanks..

If your lenses are DX then they will work on a D700 but the camera will cut the resolution.

Only the 70-300 VR is full frame.

The 18-135 and Sigma 10-20 will fit to the D700, but I can't see the point in buying a 12 megapixel full frame camera, then shooting it in 5.2 megapixel DX mode.

Don't buy a D700 until you have the appropriate lenses.

Thanks PD, it seems i might be lucky as i have only two lenses to get rid of later, as i see you have purchased the 700 before getting rid of your DX lens.

Thanks for the tip...

So if i purchase a Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens, will it fit and run on my D80. Anyone?.

Yep the 10-20 on the D80 will be fine. I use it on mine.
Oh what a fool i am, my sigma is a Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC HSM, i suppose i was trying to find out if this runs on the D700...

I think i might be running before i can walk, No not been drinking.......

It will have serious vignetting problems on the D700 but it will work on the cropped sensor mode, however, this will drop the megapixals so quality will not be as good. The D700 needs good glass so for wide angle a Nikon 14-24 would be the best option, but around £1k for this lens, its not cheap!

OUCH!, that hurt.
Thanks for your time devitt. back to the drawing board...

I picked up a used 20-35f2.8 to use on my d700 which i find plenty wide enough.
It is a slightly older lens but can be found for around £200 to £400
