Ok... read a bit further on..... Nikon have removed this from later cameras (ie not in the D700 setup menu)

It's a Windows setting Barry - not a camera setting.
His PC can see the D700 - so the drivers are fine.
Right, you're at step 5 below.
Disabling camera wizard in Windows XP
1. Connect D700 & switch on.
2. Go to Start / Control Panel.
3. In Control Panel, open Printers and Other Hardware (if the Control Panel is in Classic View, skip to the next step).
4. Open Scanners and Cameras.
5. In the Scanners and Cameras window, right-click on D700 and choose Properties.
6. Click the Events tab.
7. On the Select an event pop-up menu, choose Camera Connected and then select "Take no action" in the Actions area.
8. Click OK.



Seeing the camera and getting the files that are on the card are not necessarily one and the same thing.
Sorry folks, i was downloading some images. Basically found this through trial and error but basically the steps above have solved the problems.Many Thanks to those who offered help and assistance--im just glad it all done no. Cheers.![]()
