I had been looking for a D300 but having seen what D700s are going for I have decided to push it and try and afford the D700 sooner rather than later (I had always planned to get the D700's replacement maybe next year).
Now if I do get the D700 I will not be able to change any of my glass for a while as I will be skint
So I will have the D200 and D700 with the following lenses
Nikon AF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 VR DX IF
Nikon AF-S 105mm f/2.8 F2.8 G IF-ED
Nikon AF 50mm 50 F/1.8 f1.8 D
plus these that I use with the D1x
Tamron AF 55-200MM F4-5.6 LD macro
Nikon AFS 18-55 f3.5-5.6 VR DX
Nikon AF 50mm 50 F/1.8 f1.8 D
Now as far as I am aware the nifty fifty will work FF on the D700 and ALL the others will only work as cropped.
So the question is how good is the D700 cropped? till I can afford the new glass
Anyone got any examples?
Am I right with my list?
I know I could get the glass first then the D700 but I will be unlikely to have the money all in one go again for a while so it would be better this way.
What are the best lenses to take advantage of the D700? I am mostly interested in portrait work plus I wanted to get some wide glass (this is just for future reference). My two expensive lenses for the main camera, what FF equivalents are there and how much are they likely to cost plus how much are mine worth?
