I've started doing a bunch of low key dark on dark/ black on black images and I'm finding a lot of chroma noise in the D810.
For instance, here is a 1:1 crop of a tiny section of the image posted here:

That crop is AFTER noise reduction and even an HSL layer tyring to get it to smooth out. The image is not a low light/natural light/long exposure...
Now, I know that 1:1 critiquing of an image over 7000px wide is overkill.
And I know that some chroma noise is common in dark areas where the sensor really doesn't have much to work with.
And I know higher ISO's will make it worse.
But I'm finding it pretty bad even at ISO 100/200 (which look the same to me). And I can't find a good way to really deal with it.
I'm guessing it's just a factor of the high MP count? Anyone else experiencing the same/different?
(some of you may not be able to see much of anything in the crop... monitor calibration will make a big difference in seeing it)
