I have Windows 7 and my bro has a Powerbook.

Were swapping.

How the eff do i get my data onto a storage device and copy it to the mac (assuming ill have compatibility issues)

And when ive done that - how do i get data off his mac and transfer it to my windows assuming ill have the same problem!

Make sure you're external drive is formatted as FAT32, both systems can read/write to this natively

You have a network you can both use at the same time?

To share from the Mac: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1812

Or turn on File Sharing on the PC, get the IP address (e.g. 10.0.0.1) and connect to smb://10.0.0.1 from the Mac.

Edit: one other quick and easy method is to use an external card reader with the memory card from your camera as an external drive. I've used this lots of times. Subject to the 4GB limit with FAT32 filesystems mentioned by neil.

This is a useful tip which I hadn't come across

I am of course going to have to steal it for the MacOS tips thread unless you want to post there :)
