Dawlish

Landscapes. Coast views the Ness at Shaldon, coast views Hopes Nose Torquay, good views from the golf course area above Teignmouth, good view from Haldon Hill across the Exe Estuary. Dartmoor is quite close approx. 1/2 hour drive nearest point Haytor from there 15 mins to Widecombe-in-the-Moor, personally I prefer the Bonehill rocks / Houndtor area. Once on the moors views are everywhere. The drive up the Teign Vally to Fingle Bridge is nice (difficult to get to the river in the valley but lots of walks at Fingle Btidge area)

Properties Castle Drogo on the edge of the moors, Powderham Castle on the Exe estuary. further afield Dartmouth is quite historic take the ferry from Kingswear. On the moors the village of North Bovey is the very quaint as is Buckland-in-the-moor. If you want to check out the moors have a look at http://mydartmoor.co.uk/ will give a taste of most tors and what can be found (still a work in progress so the site can be a bit glitchy)

For nature try Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve, mainly birds with a hide along the warren but a long lens is required and the right tide. There were GC Grebes at Stover Country Park today very close about 3 meters from the paths. There are lots of deer in Haldon Forest but good luck in finding them. Deer park at Powderham castle.

Hope that helps. If you want any more info just let me know. Good sunrises from Dawlish Warren sometimes!
