Yes
I would absolutely love to get into the fashion industry after I graduate but although I have the backbone when it comes to crits of my work - it is the lack of confidence , and also that I worry about wasting other peoples (models) time, that has stopped me from getting the ball rolling.

Does anyone else have this problem. I hope it makes sense.

Kind regards

sarah

Yep it does.

Have you thought about offering TFP/CD shoots, you explain to the model that you are new and they and you get to keep the best shots for your ports.

No high expectations and great practice.

Well I'm a member of model mayhem but I just fear the shoots - I have no idea why because I get on with people really well.

Can't you arrange shoots with friends of friends first, this may gently lead you onto models, most people I speak to are well up for some nice shots to post on MS and FB.

Just got my 2nd TFCD booked from MM.

As I've mentioned on another thread today I would take a different approach and look to pay a really good model rather than try and get TFCD work. A good model will work with you and help you to build your confidence, where as a model who is working TFCD will also be trying to build their confidence and you could bring each other down :)

You may also try and find a local photographer who works with models and ask if you can tag along to hold reflectors and help out to see how they work.

Good point

You gotta be loud and clear on that one

Paying models seems counter productive unless it's for a paid project, when you go back to TFCD models you'll hit a brick wall because the paid models made it a breeze for you.

You'll learn very quickly with TFCD to get what you want out of a shoot.

We'll have to disagree on that :) I use paid and TFCD models and find I can get much more out of TFCD models as I can share the experience of working with pro models. Considering you're only just arranging your second shoot I don't know what you are basing your experience on.

ETA If I could afford to use paid models all the time I would.

Sorry squizza I have to bow out due to the presence of a Pro :coat:
