I've got one too....got it after having it's older brother the 2405....no complaints here and I use them both in a dual monitor setup.

whats rev eo4 mean

Hi Daz, basically it means that Dell had 4 attempts before it got the monitor right

Ao1 was the first revision, A02 the second revision which tried to deal with ghosting issues and pink and green tinges on the monitor, A03 they tried again to deal with the afore mentioned issues as well as issues with text being hard to read and with the A04 revision they finally got it right, however they then went on to screw things up again by bringing out the 2408 WFP which is currently on Rev A03

If someone tries to sell you one then just make sure its an A04 or walk away, if they dont know what it means then they know nothing about monitors.

Are you looking for one, i can probably get you a Rev A04 if youre seriously interested, theyre not cheap though, about £250

where abouts on the back of the monitor carnt see it its not on the sticker.

Its just below the power inlet, the Rev No will be on a sticker 2 inch wide by halh inch tall, if theres just a recess where a sticker should have been its pretty safe to assume its not a Rev A04 as resellers know exactly what theyre doing.

is it a number on its own or part of somthing else

look for where the power lead goes into the back of the monitor, its just below that

they have a e228wfpc as well are these any good. if the one above isnt any good.

Daz, how much have you got to play with here, for about £250 you can buy a brand new Dell Ultrasharp 2209WA 22" E-IPS which is probably the best 22inch monitor available, if you really need or want a 24 inch then for the same money i can get you a 1 year old 2407 wfp Rev A04 which is rated by many as the best 24 inch available

the one ive seen is only £160 so i really didnt want to spend much more.is there a diffrence in the p and the pb then

No difference, the b is a little used suffix added to the WFP, theyre exactly the same, there is of course the 2407 WFP-HC which is the high colour gamut version of the 2407 WFPB, i would avoid this at all costs, the colours were far, far too strong and professional calibration equipment struggles to rein it in, the WFP used approx a 72% colour gamut but the WFP-HC used about 96% and was massive overkill.

Bet youre even more confused now.

didnt get chance to go down mate ill go tommorow ill let you know how i get on. thanx for all your help

I used a 2407 at work, not sure what revision. its a great monitor for the money but I wouldnt use one for editing. looking straight on the blacks all become one so ended up having to move my head around to check the blacks. its not that bad but bad enough for me to want a different monitor. I have a hp 2475 which is a sips panel. solid no matter where you look at it.
