Digital Photo Frame...but without the Frame

Hi all,

Hope someone can help?

I've seen something online I'm trying to copy for my photos, and am up-cycling a retro portable TV to be a digital photo frame.

The problem I'm having is, as the TV will effectively be the frame, I don't really want to have a traditional 'digital frame', just the 'display' part.

In the image of the TV below, the viewing area is around 6.0" diagonal, and there's maximum 0.5" space around the inside to fit the rest of the display.

Based on the thickness of frames, I could only likely fit a 5" display in as the frames are too big for any larger displays, and this is really too small.

Does anyone know of any digital photo frames that could fit which have a very small bezel, or is there something I could use instead of a digital photo frame?

Oh yeah, 4:3 aspect ratio too.

Any advice appreciated!

Cool project! Great idea!
The aspect ratio may be the most difficult thing to over come - that said, perhaps a large tablet would fit and use software to display the correct image size / ratio - you may find one that fits the aperture nicely
