After you done a studio shoot, do you print at there studio or Wait. Getting towards the end of buying all the equipment for a pro studio. Now for the printer, canon vs epson canon 9500 mkll or epson r2880 or do you have any suggestions?
What sort of price do you normally pay per print ?
thanks

I've never printed at a studio, and I've never had a studio I've used offer that facility. Frankly, most of my images require some sort of PP work before I am ready to send them to the printers, and I'll do that in the comfort of my own home, often several days after the shoot has taken place.

Fo rsmall prints, or small print runs, I'll print them myself. Anything else I will usually use an online printer. For anything that I consider really special, I will use a local printer that I can talk with to discuss my specific requirements.

If you are going to print, get the Espon 3880 - The A3+ printers whiolst great just consume ink far too quickly in the tiny cartridges that cost £10 each!

Alternatively look at a CIS system but when you add the cost of a CIS system you're much closer to the price of a 3880.

I use the older Epson R2400 and I would not go past Epson pigment ink printers - just cause it's not failed me. I'm sure the Canon is fine too but both will eat ink!

If you plan on printing small images with this better not to because it's much cheaper using a lab for anything up to around 10x8 or A4 size.

I like the prints from my printer better than any lab I've sent images to though - something about the different papers and feel to the images I get. So for special images - do them yourself!
