Does anyone live in/near brighton?

Heya, I'm looking at moving to brighton in september with my boyfriend. I'll be (hopefully) at the university and he'll have a job teaching secondary maths.
I don't know the area that well, but i know i'd be at the grand parade campus. Does anyone know anywhere thats reasonably cheaper to live on the outskirts than in the centre, but that wouldn't take too long on the bus?

I can ask my brother- he has the worlds smallest flat in the centre- costs a fortune!

yup! it is mega expensive to live there. hence why i'm looking for something maybe just out of town a bit. I don't mind a bus ride or a train journey if it saves on rent!! x

Try flats to rent in Portslade, Southwick, maybe Hove....Hove will be more expensive though.....

My son was a student there. There are loads of shared let places in nice areas. If you want a place of your own it will be expensive.Its a great town for young people to live- loads happening and great shops.
