you have to "drive it round" not turn it sharply![]()

I really like portraits, but don't take them for the exact reason you state - reluctance to have someone else there while I bumble about trying to sort out lighting and get very embarrased asking them to pose.

I skip right over baby set ups, cant see whats cute about seeing a dangling sleeping newborn baby in a hand knitted cocoony hammock thing!
Must admit, I've only ventured into that forum probably about 3 times in total in over 1000 posts I've been here.
But I have no problem with Nude photography. Here is my favourite nude photographer:

Love his photos.![]()

well we agree to completely disagree.
looking at any section of his work I am inclined to say his work is not "artistic" or "provocative" in any way at all = merely pornographic
not disagreeing with your freedom to choose whom your prefer -- just not for me.
I know, I've had two and never turned either over, my second would do 85 mph easily and it used to frighten the poo out of my passengers.
I was just jumping on the latest Top Gear bandwagon to raise a smile![]()

I see that episode, someone needs to teach Jeromy how to drive one without turning it over![]()

I think he got an erotic award in 2008?![]()
Never thought I'd see the day that "open leg shots" and "a cup of tea and biscuits" were discussed on the same page![]()

Bamburgh and Eilean Donan castles. So many tediously repetitive pictures littering the photography magazines all taken from exactly the same spot and with the same lighting.
I used to say the same thing until I bit the bullet and started to take pics of people and now I'm an addict! Is your reticence based on the same thing mine was? Reluctance to be in front of a real live person with a camera in your hand?

so they give out porn oscars? if only I'd had known sooner!
I avoid the bugs and creepy crawlies section - seeing them huge on screen scares me![]()

I think it's sad if people just disregard types of photos due to their genre rather than because of what's in the photo or the way it's presented.
I can understand people being more interested in particular areas, but I have yet to find an area of photography that I havent seen some amazing pieces of work in.

Why do you assume "humanity" is missing from shots involving aircraft or race machinery? People designed and built then and used them - there's plenty of humanity in there if you know where to look (for example my latest set posted on here don't contain any things racing on tarmac - go take a look).
Also, the machinery itself can evoke an emotional response - just because you aren't someone who feels like that doesn't mean to say it doesn't happen for others....

Ohh Err I'm off there in August and I am hoping to take a nice photo of Bamburgh castle. I can look at photos all day and say how nice they are but it's not the same if I haven't taken it myself  I'm sure there are many on here would feel the same no matter if tripod holes have worn into the rocks from over use![]()
